The images exhibited are drawn from a collection I have entitled ‘Footfall’. They reflect my experience of life in Ely from childhood to the present time. Long distance walking has made me aware of the continuing line of humanity that travels ancient pathways against the background of a changing environment. This awareness linked with my interest in local history influences my work. The images seek to visualise the relationship between local people and the surrounding fenland. They also reflect my experience of the movement of generations in our City and its surroundings.
